Established in the Fall of 1987 by Sailor Ron, Anchor Steam Tattoo Gallery is located in beautiful downtown Newport, Rhode Island. After 10 years of successful business at its Collins street location, Anchor Steam moved to its present space on Broadway in the Fall of 1997. Upon retirement in December of 2000, Sailor Ron sold Anchor Steam to its current owner, Jennifer Clinch Guertin.
Featuring the work of Jen Clinch Guertin, Tom Butts and Pete Fortune, the staff of Anchor Steam are professional, full time artists each posessing their own personal style, and are highly versitile (please visit the portfolios section for a small example of each artist work).
Anchor Steam keeps a large reference library of tattoo designs of all styles. All tattooing is done in private rooms, featuring stainless work areas and equipment autoclaved on location. Anchor Steam maintains a close working relationship with the Rhode Island Department of Health and holds license #01980.
