How to Make Temporary Tattoos
Step
1
Decide what type of tattoo design is desired. Next, determine the size and colors that will be used and where on the body the tattoo will be placed.
Step
2
Design a tattoo by hand or by using available clipart graphics that are available through many different types of computer and desktop publishing programs.
Step
3
Decide on a professional looking temporary tattoo using a computer desktop publishing program, a color printer, and temporary tattoo paper (that can be purchased on-line) or on a stenciled or drawn on design done by hand. Hand painted or stencil designs can be filled in with body paint, henna ink, or nail polish.
Step
4
Choose professional clipart designs and move the design into a computer desktop publishing program. This can be done by finding free clipart graphics online, through desktop publishing programs, or by scanning a chosen design into the computer system.Be sure to choose simple designs that will translate well into a tattoo. Anything too detailed in nature may bleed together and not achieve the desired results.
Step
5
Pull the clipart into a program where it can be manipulated as desired to make it bigger or smaller; to change some or all of the colors; or some other alteration.
Step
6
Print the finished tattoo design onto temporary tattoo paper that can be found in limited craft and office supply stores or on-line.
Step
7
Apply the tattoo as directed on the paper’s instructional guidelines.
Step
8
Choose a stencil design for a stenciled tattoo. There are hundreds of stencils already on the market that can be easily found in most craft stores as well as many discount department stores that carry craft items. It is also possible to make a hand made stencil design. Just remember to keep it simple and clean so that it will transfer well on to your body.
Step
9
Fill in the stencil tattoo using washable body paints, non-toxic washable henna ink, or nail polish in the desired colors.
Step
10
Hand paint a tattoo onto the body with body paints, henna ink, or nail polish.
