Keith Urban Remembers His First Tattoo

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 21, 2011)--There's a story behind the eagle that’s tattooed on Keith Urban'sback.

It was his first tattoo and he says he got it after landing in the U.S. on a flight from Australia just before midnight on the night he turned 24.


He says was awake because of the jet lag and thinking "What should I do for my birthday?' There's nobody there to celebrate with me."

So he said he thought, "'I'm going to get a tattoo. I've always wanted a tattoo."'

Urban says he "thought the eagle was perfect, because it was American, independence and freedom, all the things" he felt he finally had.
