Megan Fox has revealed she got a tattoo in tribute to Mickey Rourke.
The pair formed a close bond on the set of Passion Play, and Megan was so inspired by her 57-year-old co-star she decided to get a new inking to remember working with him. The tattoo is on the right side of her rib cage and reads, ‘Those who danced were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music’.
The quote is believed to have been taken from a little known poet Angela Monet, but could also be a translation of a line composed by 13th century Persian poet Rumi.
“Mickey is such a beautiful, wonderful human being. He’s so genuine and so sweet and so talented. I just love him to death,” Megan told MTV. “I kept telling him that he needs to have kids, because I think he’s going to be an amazing dad. I hope he does that soon.
“I actually got a tattoo that is sort of in honour of him. It’s on my ribs. I don’t know if it’s been photographed yet, but it’ll come out eventually, I’m sure.
“I just love him very much and think he’s very special.”
Mickey has also been vocal in his praise for 24-year-old Megan. He was so impressed by the emotional scenes they filmed together, he has previously said she was one of the “most talented actresses” he has ever worked with.
Megan has also been talking about her new movie Jonah Hex. She plays a gun-toting prostitute in the action-packed western alongside Josh Brolin and had no problem wielding a weapon for the fight scenes. Megan has revealed she grew up learning how to use a gun from an early age.
“When I was five and six years old, [my dad and I] went target shooting with shotguns. So I’ve handled a gun before – an enormous shotgun – when I was a little kid,” she explained. “I grew up in Tennessee, and my dad, as a hobby, is a duck hunter. He used to go kill ducks and bring them home, and we would eat them for the dinner… We would barbeque them.”
