In August of 1992, Lee Burns opened the newly remodeled, smoke-free Painless Steel Tattooing and Body Piercing Studio in Missoula, Montana. In March of 1996, after being open only 7 months, the studio was named "Best Tattooing Parlor" by a write-in poll in the Missoula Independent newspaper.
Since 1992, Painless Steel Tattoo and Body Piercing has been one of the leading tattoo parlors in the Northwest. Opened and designed by owner and Missoula native Lee Burns, Painless Steel Tattoos has become synonymous with quality, cleanliness and artistry in the rapidly growing world of body art. Scores of awards, trophies and framed magazine covers sporting Lee’s tattoos adorn the walls of the obsessively clean shop, and testify to the fact that Painless’ dedication to service and craft is unsurpassed in tattoo world.
At Painless Steel, Lee and Mandy Burns strive to provide a safe, sterile and welcoming space for their clients. Serving an extremely diverse clientele, Lee and his artists believe that a great tattoo or piercing begins with a respectful partnership between customer and artist. All Painless Steel tattoo artists are dedicated students of the craft who have apprenticed under master tattoo artists and are well-educated in sterility and first aid. Having lived the tattoo-experience from both sides of the chair, the Painless Steel staff takes pleasure in answering questions and addressing customer concerns with friendly, honest responses.
