he primary mission for Ink Attic Tattoo and Body Piercing is to be successful in all areas of business and artistry, which will enable us to eventually become the number one tattoo shop in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Future plans exist for opening new Ink Attic Tattoo locations so that we might have the opportunity to showcase various artists and proudly display their artwork in our gallery. We are currently looking into launching a clothing line and exploring all aspects of the apparel and merchandise business, and we have high hopes for TV advertising down the road.

Before Ink Attic’s inception, owner and operator, Steve, first recognized Jonathan’s skill level after having him fix a homemade tattoo that a buddy performed on him. Shortly after, Steve offered to take Jonathan by a tattoo shop where worked on a friend’s son. That friend turned out to be Aric Von, who was unhappy with his current situation and with the direction of his career. Although Aric tried to convince his superiors to giving Jonathan a shot, the plan for Jonathan to work side by side with him went sour. Steve and his wife Nancy wanted a place for their son-in-law Jonathan, to define his art/ tattoo skills and display his talent, so they decided to look into the idea of opening their own shop. Steve and Nancy took out a loan on Nancy’s car which happened to be worth more than the actual car. Luckily, Nancy has some good friends! When the decision was made to finally open his own tattoo shop in January of 2007, Steve extended an official job offer to Aric, which he gladly accepted. Not only did Aric come up with the shop’s name “Ink Attic”, he also sketched and designed the layout and appearance of the parlor.

The shop is actually located where old N.A. meetings (Narcotics Anonymous) where held. WARNING!!! There may still be some addicts roaming around the shop! That is to say…Ink Addicts.

Artists have come and gone. Business is business. It’s never personal but you tend to build a close and personal relationship with your artists and sometimes things just don’t work out on the business end for whatever reason. There have been a lot of good times for the Ink Attic, especially when the money is rolling in. You always have to experience the hard times when the action is slow, but the good times definitely outweigh the bad and we are still afloat here on Race St., thank God. Ink Attic has been around for a while now and most of the haters have shut up. Some have even came back and asked for a job!

Special thanks goes out to all of our clients, past, present and future. We always look forward to serving you. Soon to come…temporary tattoos and airbrush tattoos.
